How does milk actually become cheese? And what makes cheese so tangy? We’ll have all this explained to us on a guided tour of the Appenzell show dairy. A cheesemaker shows us how the cheese is rennetted and cutting the curds to the point of ripening the cheese. We are also allowed to help out and produce our own fresh cheese. After noodles with cheese and apple sauce, we go on the pearl trail in the afternoon with a puzzle book. If we find the right answer, a small gift awaits us in the show dairy.
